Ice Cream Plus

An obvious combo where you have an espresso machine, ice cream, strawberries and the current heat.  Bravo to Benugo for offering Affogato (espresso coffee with ice cream) from their mobile unit in the forecourt of the British Museum.

Story on a Serviette

Telling a story is more and more what cafes and restaurants need to do to explain why they are different and worth visiting.  Zizzi's story about their gelato supplier is well told and well communicated via their serviettes.

Cones, Charts & Hedgehogs

Guest Spot
My brother Simon reports on a very switched-on ice cream operation, Harbour Ice,  in Padstow who clearly are aware of how to cater for special interest groups with their gluten-free cones and Allergy Chart.
The Hedgehog special is a fun variation on the ubiquitous '99' and Magnums

God Save The Cream

One of the more extraordinary 'boutique' ice cream shops, located in Covent Garden, is a testament to how marketing can get you noticed.  Baby GooGoo breast milk vice cream alongside the more restrained Jubilee Strawberry.  Retailers are going jubilee crazy - do you have a promotion that catches the eye?
Would you have guessed this is an absinthe 'drip' for their Sex Pistols dessert.

Ice Cream Station

Squire's Garden Centre at Badshot Lea has a new 350-seat cafe with an idea borrowed from Pizza Hut - the kids love it.
